Club News

On behalf of the club I would like to thank you all for your generous support and contribution to a great cause. We raised a substantial amount despite the weather conspiring against us. So on the 11th of December we had a hamper competition.Unfortunately the torrential rain played havoc with the Competition, quite literally washing all of the Ladies off the course! We will reschedule a ladies hamper competition when the weather permits. As for the mens, the early birds were very fortunate to have a dry round, when the rain came only a few hardcore players stayed out, but it was difficult to equal the scores posted earlier in the morning. The winner was Eamonn Haughton with 35 stableford points and he took away the hamper. 4 other competitors posted 34 points and took the remaining prizes, Noel Valenzuela, Oliver Whelan, Diarmuid Spencer and Brian Donohue. The raffle took place then and Bob Armstrong's popularity soared as all other members tried to gain favour with him as he won the top prize, a 4-ball to the K-Club! Michael Brady showed he has skill and luck on his side as he won the golf Hamper, a week after he won the Turkey Comp, but don't mention the mouse-traps!! Ciaran Blake ensured dry feet for next season as he won a pair of Dryjoys, Pat dowling and Jacinta Kiernan won the remaining prizes. It was a great but slightly damp day, we didn't get our song from the captains but there is always next year.
